Michigan woman killed in 1 of 2 vehicle accidents

Driving on the highways of Michigan will always be risky. This was underscored in the early morning hours of a recent Saturday. Two motor vehicle accidents are under investigation, one of which claimed the life of a woman.

The Michigan State Police report shows that officers were heading to a reported crash when they witnessed the second accident. According to a preliminary crash report, officers saw a car as it was struck by a wrong-way driver. Reportedly, this happened at approximately 2 a.m. The wrong-way driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. Sadly, the woman driving the car that was going the correct way died at the scene of the accident.

Reportedly, no lives were lost in the other car accident to which state police responded. However, the accident report shows that a vehicle rolled over. A man was ejected from the car, but he survived. He was also taken to a medical facility. No other information about the ages or genders of the accident victims was reported. Also, it is not clear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in these accidents.

Whenever lives are lost in vehicle accidents, the surviving family members may pursue financial relief through the Michigan civil justice system. Wrongful death claims typically include the expenses related to end-of-life arrangements and other documented damages. Similarly, injured victims of the negligence of others can seek damage recovery. The types of legal proceedings are complicated and best handled by an experienced Michigan personal injury.
